Tech Girly Travels: How I Use Copilot for Microsoft 365 to Plan the Perfect Foodie Trip FT. Rome, Italy

As a corporate tech girly, I get to play with new technology in both a working environment and in everyday life. It’s honestly a dream come true, especially when it ties into my travel-planning obsession. I'm that friend who spends way too much time on TikTok and Instagram, likely starting 6 months before a trip, bookmarking trendy restaurants and adventures for my next escape. My process? It starts with watching a ton of content, saving videos, moves to an Excel sheet, and ends with reservations at must-visit spots.

Enter Copilot for Microsoft 365. This tool leveled up my travel planning game by turning my list of 50+ Rome's hottest dining spots into a well-organized itinerary, complete with details sourced from influencers and locals alike.

My Excel? Yeah, it was a masterpiece:

But I knew it could be better. I tend to get a grasp on new technology by doing and experimenting. I knew there had to be a better way to add details to the list than taking the time and back tracking to find websites, menu items, or listing descriptions for friends and family to use the document, etc. So, I turned to Copilot.

Knowing what I do about Copilot, I could easily take my list of restaurant recommendations and use a simple prompt to pull more detailed information directly from the web.

My prompt:

“I have this list of restaurants in Rome, Italy. Can you provide each website link and a 3-sentence summary of what they are known for and 2 of their most popular dishes? ”
