Olomana Three Peaks Trail located in Kailua Oahu is a playground of a hike and some would say an adrenaline junkie’s dream come true. Be prepared for over a 1000 ft. gain in elevation, bring shoes with traction, be prepared for rock climbing-ish spots along the way and make sure to pack a lot of water.
The first peak is the most time consuming to climb and the highest point of the mountain 1643 feet. I am estimating about an hour and 30 minutes. Once you’re at the top, you have a beautiful 360 view of the island. It’s absolutely breathtaking and most people stop here. If you’re there at the right time, you might get up close and personal with a helicopter. The second peak takes about 15 min or so from the first peak and splits the range. The third peak is the hardest with narrow trails to the top. Please be careful as this is the most dangerous trail of the three peaks. Make smart moves and take your time.
I would highly recommend this trail for experienced hikers and adventure seekers. Be safe, watch your step and enjoy this small piece of island paradise.
